Harmonisation des moyens de paiement dans la zone Euro
Representatives of thirty major banks and European authorities gathered on May 5th, 2010 in Madrid to discuss the " Monnet project ", aiming at setting up a new pan-European card scheme. This project has been launched in 2008 by major French and German banks.
The feasibility study carried out into the prospective new pan-European card system initiated in 2008 by the leading French and German banks showed that there is a real opportunity for French banks, the market and all users to put together a pan-European card system, removing the need to rely on international systems alone.
